Musings
I have learned that it's possible not to fall just once in a lifetime, but twice, thrice, many times over. And you don't learn from the pain of the first one. For some reason, you still burn on the second one, as if the first one never happened. As if no lesson was learned from before.
Some things just aren't meant to be. No matter how hard you try, how much you feel, how sincerely you pray. All you can do is hold on to the moment while it lasts. While there's time.
There are things we complain about over and over again. Things that cannot be changed. Or resolved. But maybe the reason why we can't change these things is because it's not meant to be changed.
Here's the bitter truth... you cannot fight for someone who cannot fight for you. You cannot stay with someone who would not mind letting you go. You must not prioritize someone whose priority is not you. A relationship is a commitment. Two people involved. If one of the party cannot consider the need of the other, then it's not worth keeping.
The love was doomed from the very start.
Learn to love the people who truly love you. And will love you no matter what. Who can at least tell you that they'd have a hard time living without you. Who will hold your hand and see you together in the future.
There are some things we regret losing. Some things we wish we could get back to... if only to escape the pain. But pain is a part of growth. Regret is pointless if you learn to understand that the person you want to be with isn't really interested to be with you in the first place.
Fact of life is... in a relationship, one loves more than the other. And a thousand sorries will do you no amount of good. But accept it you must, because there is no choice. The earlier you learn to accept, the easier it is to move on.
'Tis we have to learn to love ourselves more. To stop being naive and juvenile. 'Tis when we get jaded and cold. Sometimes mean... but always strong. And you earn a level of understanding for others that you have never seen before.
And while your mind recognizes these facts, your heart doesn't. It dwells on a place where there is hope. Where there are happy memories.
Nothing lasts forever. And love has never been able to move mountains.
The risk of loving someone is letting go.
