Moonlight
Dear Moonlight,
As you caress me tonight
Your silver cold hands,
Weaves its magic on me.
You woo me with the promise of romance
In your dark abode
Amidst the myriad stars...
Am I but one star amongst the millions?
You thrill me
Mysterious celestial being that you are.
You soothe me
With your silence
The strength of your aura...
Yet you have borrowed strength from the sun
You are otherwise cold.
Unfeeling.
Pretentious liar.
Even your beauty is stolen.
A reflection of the sun.
How vain.
But pretty... pretty....
From afar.
Don't look too near...
The scars on thy flesh holds little appeal.
I admire the moon.
I loathe the moon.
Moonlight... let me believe in magic.
Let not reality interfere
Our love affair need not be tragic.
